Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Poorly written 90's tale in 2005
This tale was very poorly written. Most of it was a dispute between Venom and Carnage over a the newest symbiote's survival. The verbal dispute becomes repetitive and annoying even though some of the art is very good to look at. The chapters all have anti-climatic, "trying too hard" endings. The character development was poorly done as well, and quite unrealistic. Also one reason why I like Marvel books is their "realism", their major attachment to NYC. I grew up around cops and the NYPD doesn't ... Read More

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Could of Been So Much More....
SPOILERS!!!!

I had high hopes for this one. I love Carnage and Venom and was excited about seeing the new symbiote. However, this just failed to deliver what I wanted: an epic birthing coupled with clever lines and an awesome battle of the symbiotes!
Writer:

I thought the writing was alright but could of been done a lot better. The plot itself was quite intriguing and I liked how Toxin was born. The idea of Spiderman finally having a permanent symbiote friend ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Excellent read, but title is misleading...
Ok, so there really isn't much Venom vs Carnage in this, well at least not them fighting physically like you were probably hoping. But never the less, the story to this is really a great read. And a new symbiote lifeform is born, "Toxin." He's the baby of Carnage. Venom really isn't in this a whole lot. Which I found a little disappointing because he was the reason I bought this. It mainly focuses on Patrick Mulligan, who is the host of Toxin. Spidey pops up in a few panels as well. This isn't really ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Venom vs. Carnage
Great series featuring, Black cat, Spidey, Venom, Carnage and Toxin. Worth a look for any spider-man or venom fan.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Enter Toxin
Clayton Crain's artwork and color is just beautiful, even in this setting. Although in some panels incredibly surrealistic I wish all comic books looked this good. Aside from the great (and sometimes weird) artwork I enjoyed the story. Who doesn't want more symbiotes? And the new guy Toxin is a beast. My only criticism (and always a compliment coming from me) I wish there was more. But you can't go wrong with this little book, great artwork and I really liked the story. Would make a great sick ...
